Harthill Primary School

‘A school at the heart of its village’

Mrs Booth and Mrs Naylor Y4/5

Welcome to our class page

Meet the team

Our class are taught by a job share; Mrs Booth teaches at the beginning of the week and Mrs Naylor teaches at the end of the week. Our Learning Support Assistants are Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Webster.

Summer Term 1

We will begin this term by looking at explanation texts linked to our Science topic of Earth and Space.  We had intended to complete this work in Spring 2 but Dragon Days took up more time than we imagined.  Our key text for this short half term is 'Clockwork' by Phillip Pulman.  We will be producing a piece of narrative writing relating to this text.

Spring Term 2

Our key text for this half term will be Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events (book 1).  We will be focusing on journalistic writing linked to this text along side writing play scripts for our on going GullyFest project.  We will also look at explanation texts linked to our Science topic of Earth and Space.

Spring Term 1

This half term we will be reading Five Children and It by E Nesbitt. We will be writing non chronological reports about psammeads and fantasy stories.
