English:
This week we will be learning about instruction writing. When we write instructions we use imperative verbs, these are 'bossy verbs' like get, cut, stick. To help you understand what imperative verbs are you could watch the video about bossy verbs. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=video+about+bossy+verbs&&view=detail&mid=27C6F9930EFC2019965127C6F9930EFC20199651&rvsmid=C6F97AB679D8569A1EBCC6F97AB679D8569A1EBC&FORM=VDRVRV
Activity 1
First watch the video showing you how to make a crab from an egg box. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=how+to+make+a+craft+crab+from+egg+box&&view=detail&mid=90C35BF70B6701AF7D5B90C35BF70B6701AF7D5B&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dhow%2520to%2520make%2520a%2520craft%2520crab%2520from%2520egg%2520box%26qs%3Dn%26form%3DQBVR%26sp%3D-1%26pq%3Dhow%2520to%2520make%2520a%2520craft%2520crab%2520from%2520egg%2520box%26sc%3D0-37%26sk%3D%26cvid%3D7B148AEB05E843FF8C30DDD35E41E813
If you can make one. Discuss with your adults which words are the bossy imperative verbs.
Activity 2
Again look and listen for the imperative verbs.
See if you can explain to an adult how to make one. You will use 'bossy' imperative verbs.
Activity 3
Write instructions for a task in your house. It could be making the bed, washing the pots or making a cup of tea. Don't forget to reread your instructions afterwards. Have fun following your instructions by completing the task again. Did you miss anything out? Don't worry if you did just edit your writing.
