The art activity below is from a home learning resource produced by Ingestre Hall Residential Arts Centre and is taken from their 'Stay Creative Pack.' The activity is inspired by the art work of Austrian painter Gustav Klimt who was famous for his use of patterns within his work. Below is a a picture of his work entitled 'Golden Eye.'
Your task is to find a picture of a person in a newspaper or magazine; you'll need their head and arms. Look at the example in the document below and doodle some patterns for their clothing and the space around them. Add some colour to your work. As you can see Klimt really loved gold but you can use whichever colours you prefer. Don't forget to email us your master pieces and we will display them in our WOW work folder.
