‘A school at the heart of its village’

Maths - Arithmetic: Answer as many questions as you can within 30 minutes. Afterwards, mark your answers and then choose two questions that you did not get right to work on. You could use BBC Bitesize to revise before you work on your two gaps.

Reading Comprehension - Shirley Chisholm: Read the text on pages 14, 15 and 16 and highlight (or write down) vocabulary and phrases that you want to explore tomorrow.

Writing: Re-read Chapters 47 and 48 of Abomination. As you read, focus on the changes and developments in character, particularly in the case of Martha. Focus on three key questions:

  • How is her relationship with her parents now changing?
  • How does she react to the bullies?
  • How is her language and way of talking changing?

Use evidence from these two chapters to back up your statements of Martha’s development.

Present it like this -

How does this compare to what she used to be like? Can you find three pieces of evidence to support this from earlier chapters?

SPaG - I will email a voice recording of the spelling test which tests you on the spellings (homophones) that were on last week's remote learning page.
