Writing

This half term, our class focus text is The Hunger Games. Our writing learning will be based around this and I am so pleased that you all have your own copy. Whilst we are still learning at home, I am keen for us to share our ideas together as a class. Thanks to Mrs Naylor's suggestion, I think that we will be able to successfully do this using an online tool: Jamboard.

1. Watch the demo lesson which shows you how to add your ideas.

2. Click on the Jamboard link below

3. If an account is not already logged in, you may need to ask a parent to log in to their Google account for you. If for any reason, this is not an option, please email in your answers to each question and I will add them to the Jamboard myself.

How to use Jamboard. I am really excited for us to collaborate as a class again. This demonstration is a must watch before starting the lesson.

Maths - Arithmetic: Answer as many questions as you can within 30 minutes. Afterwards, mark your answers and then choose two questions that you did not get right to work on. You could use BBC Bitesize to revise before you work on your two gaps.

Reading Comprehension - Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover: Answer the background knowledge questions below before you read the text on page 1. If you are able to, discuss these questions and your answers for them with an adult or someone from class just as we would if we were in school.

Reading Comprehension - Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover: Now read the text twice. On your second read of the text, highlight (or write down) vocabulary and phrases that you want to explore tomorrow in order for you to make sense of the text.

SPaG - Spelling Test: I will email a voice recording of the spelling test which tests you on the spellings (homophones) that were on week 6's remote learning page. New spellings (silent letter focus) for the week are below.
