Maths - Arithmetic: Answer as many questions as you can within 30 minutes. Afterwards, mark your answers and then choose two questions that you did not get right. Email me these gaps and we will work on them in class from next week.

Reading Comprehension - Theseus and the Minotaur: Answer the background knowledge questions below before you read the text on pages 13 and 14. If you are able to, discuss these questions and your answers for them with an adult or someone from class just as we would if we were in school.

Reading Comprehension - Theseus and the Minotaur: Now read the text on pages 13 and 14. Read the text twice. On your second read of the text, highlight (or write down) vocabulary and phrases that you want to explore tomorrow in order for you to make sense of the text.

Writing Learning Activity

Use quotes from chapter 5 to explain what the prep team - Venia, Octavia and Flavius - and Katniss’ stylist, Cinna, are like. Choose 3 examples from the text for each character: Venia, Octavia, Flavius and Cinna. Focus on an action, a description of their appearance and/or an example of their dialogue. Think about what the quotes suggest to the reader about them/people in the Capitol?


To get you started with this, I have completed one example for Venia for you already in the Word document below. I have also chosen one quote for each of the other characters for you to focus on.


When you have completed this, read chapter 6.

SPaG - Spelling Test: I will email a voice recording of the spelling test which tests you on the spellings (silent letter focus) that were on last week's remote learning page. New spellings (with the same focus) for the week are below.
