Harthill Primary School

‘A school at the heart of its village’

National Coal Mining Museum

Year 3 had a fantastic time at the National Coal Mining Museum.  They were able to go underground and experience pure darkness.  They learnt lots about the life of a miner and what children would be expected to do from a very young age.  Year 3 then took part in a workshop where they were able to make their own fossil as well as explore different types of rocks.  We even had time to visit the pit ponies which I know the children and adults really liked.

Year 3 would just like to thank Mrs Crofts, Mrs Harris, Mrs Sheldon and of course Mr Newton and Miss Raynes for coming on the trip and supporting their learning! Thank you!!
