Plant identification

Can you identify any trees, flowers or non flowering plants in your local area?

Your challenge is to pick a few plants to learn the names of. Give yourself a way to remember the name.

Someone once told me (Mrs N)  that a Sycamore leaf looks like a palm as it has five points or 'fingers' on it. Do you have a way to identify other plants?

Use the documents below or see the link for identification documents.

Wildlife Watch have created many plant and animal spotting sheets.  https://www.wildlifewatch.org.uk/spotting-sheets

Nature Detectives have lots of spotting sheets too https://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/blog/2020/03/tree-id-kids/
