Build a Bionic Hand

This week we would like you to have a go at building a bionic hand.  You will need to think carefully about how your muscles, bones and tendons all work together to make your fingers move.  The document below will guide you through how to make your bionic hand as well as helping you understand more about what is inside your hand.  There are also some questions to think about once your hand is made.

  • What items can you pick up with your robotic hand?
  • What would happen if you added one more finger?
  • Why is it difficult to pick up certain items with your robotic hand?

The activity above is taken from https://www.stem.org.uk

(The document below is quite large, please check which pages you need if you are going to print it.  We don't expect you to complete all the tasks shown on the document unless you really want to).
