Today we would like you to start to make a fact sheet or a mini book about spiders.

See Mrs R’s video to help show you how to set out your writing and to get you started.

Take your time as we would like you to start this today and finish it tomorrow please. We expect you to include at least 10 facts about spiders and at least 3 pictures.

Use the links below to help you. There is a powerpoint with lots of information and pictures on as well as a video to watch!

Maybe you can go outside in your garden to see if you can find any spiders?

Spiders for kids

Zoologist Jess French takes a look at some spiders, then accompanies a group of children to have a look for webs and eggs.

Today we would like you to look at the powerpoint with your grown up and talk about the activities.

Then find an object to use as a measuring unit. This could be a spoon or a set of Lego cubes or a toy car or anything in your house you want to use instead of a ruler.

Next we would like you to measure objects around your house and find things that are longer or shorter.

This is called measuring in non- standard units- we will start to measure with a ruler tomorrow!

Watch Mrs R’s video and see if you can go on a treasure hunt around your house to find 10 objects longer and 10 shorter than your measuring unit. Complete the table if you can print it or write into your exercise book.
