Writing

Well done for your contributions on Jamboard yesterday; I was very impressed and it was a great feeling having us collaborating again! It won't be long until we are able to do so in class once more and I am so excited about this. In the meantime, our second lesson will be focused on reading chapter 2 and contributing our ideas and thoughts via Jamboard.

Theseus and the Minotaur

Reading Comprehension - Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover: Re-read the text then...

1. Use the language of inference prompt below to discuss and explore the text further. If this could be done alongside an adult or even another pupil in class, it would be highly beneficial.

2. Explore the vocabulary and phrases that you highlighted (or wrote down) yesterday. Read around the word to deduce the meaning. Used its word class to help: is the word a noun, adjective, verb, adverb, pronoun etc.?

Vocabulary, from the text, that I think would be useful to explore -

  • Soviet
  • What the role of 'Planetary Geologist' entails
  • Sampling
  • Minerals
  • Persistent
  • Microbes
  • Molecules
  • Radiation
  • Habitable
  • Radar system
  • Preserve
  • Deploys
