Cooking
Wow! Mrs Pridmore and Mrs Naylor have been blow away by the open mindedness of the children in trying new tastes this week. We have cooked scrambled eggs on toast (Soda bread and seeded loaf) topped with chives and feta. The recipe that we followed is below. The children have been really sensible and we can't wait to cook again soon. We will be encouraging them to work on their pot washing skills at home so please get them to help out with pots and pans after meals once in a while! More photos can be found in the Autumn term photos folder.
Thank you for supporting us with your contributions towards food costs. If you still wish to contribute and haven't done so already, please send via ParentPay as we cannot accept cash now. Thank you
Autumn 2
Our class text is 'I was a rat' by Phillip Pullman. We will be sharing this book in class, if you child enjoys it, they might enjoy his other books including 'Clockwork' and 'The Firework Maker's Daughter'.
Additional must reads
Copies of these books are available in the classroom and we have sign up sheets for the waiting list for each. Some libraries in Rotherham are beginning to open for an order and collect service. Please check with your local library to see if you can loan any of these books.
Cooking lessons
We are excited to announce that cooking lessons will take place this half term. A letter will be sent upon return to school with more details. Children will need to borrow an apron to bring in for these lessons.
Autumn 1
This half term our key text is 'The Girl Who Stole An Elephant' by Nizrana Farook.
We are delivering a whole school project based on the book 'Here we Are' by Oliver Jeffers in the first two weeks back. This project will give us all a good chance to connect as a class, have lots of discussion about the world in which we live and begin using speaking, listening, drawing and writing skills again.
