Cherry class nurtures frogspawn into froglets

The children in Cherry Class have enjoyed an exciting 15 week journey caring for frogspawn and watching it develop into froglets. This hands-on experience gave the children a wonderful opportunity to observe the life cycle of a frog up close and deepen their understanding of nature. The frogspawn was taken carefully from teh school pond and cared for within a large glass tank.

Each week, the children carefully monitored the changes taking place. They watched as the frogspawn hatched into tiny tadpoles, grew stronger, developed back legs and then front legs, and gradually lost their tails. The children showed great patience, curiosity, and responsibility while helping to care for the developing amphibians.

The excitement grew as the tadpoles transformed into froglets, ready for the next stage of their lives. This memorable experience inspired a love of wildlife and learning that the children will remember for years to come. Some children were able to hold the froglets during the 'learning showcase' morning. Next we will be nurturing caterpillars into butterflies!
